Someone asks me about partner codes every couple of weeks. Always the same thing: do you get discounted fees or free trading?
Short answer: no. AvaTrade has no commission on forex trades. You pay the spread. That's the cost. A partner code has no impact on spreads.
The code 128979 activates the bonus program. Additional trading capital depending on your deposit. Nothing more complicated than that.
Bonus amounts?
$1,000 deposit adds $200.
Deposit $2,000 for $400 bonus.
$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.
Deposit $100,000+ and click here you can get up to $14,000. Most people won't hit that.
UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Goes to £11,200 at the top.
Account minimum is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.
The code field isn't obvious
When you're signing up. Once you've filled in your phone number, you'll see small text reading "Have a Partner Code?". Click on that text. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
If you see an error, it's fine. Complete your registration. Contact support before funding. Ask them to add code 128979. They handle this regularly.
There's a catch with the bonus
There's a volume requirement.
Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Takes a while if you trade small. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
The deposit belongs to you. Take it out anytime. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
Something useful to understand: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. Newer traders benefit from that extra cushion.
